Any permanent coloring works according to one type - this is the penetration of pigment through the cuticle scales into the layer of cortex with partial destruction of disulfide bonds, which are responsible for the shape of the curl, so it often happens that after coloring the curls straighten and become even drier.
What should you do to protect your hair during the coloring procedure?
- If you have to lighten your hair, do not wash your hair for two or three days before dyeing.
This way, a natural protective barrier is formed on the curls, which will provide additional protection. - First of all, before going to the salon, comb your hair carefully and thoroughly.
- Give up the idea of going full color.
You shouldn’t pour pigment all over your hair at once; it’s better to choose more gentle techniques like
highlighting or balayage . - Choose ammonia-free paints.
- Instead of foil when painting, it is better to use special thermal paper.

- Cut the foil 10 centimeters wide and twice as long as the length of the strands.
- Prepare the coloring agent.
- Comb your hair and divide it into sections.
- Leave one section of hair and tie the rest with an elastic band to keep the curls out of the way.
- Separate the curl with the thin tip of a comb and divide it into small strands.
- Take the foil, bring it to the root zone, and place the selected strands on it.
- Paint your hair with a brush and wrap it, securing it with a clip.
- Skip the next separated layer. Dyeing is done through one strand.
- Repeat the procedure for the rest of your hair.
- Leave the dye on your curls for the time specified in the instructions - about 25-30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and wash your hair thoroughly with warm water and shampoo.
After washing, be sure to apply a restorative mask or nourishing balm.
