Once you have determined your color type, it's time to figure out what clothing colors suit you. We have 4 main color types. Each of them has its own suitable shades of color. Each main color type means 3 types, where the colors differ in their saturation and harmonious combination. Thus we get 12 different combinations.
Winter
Winter is characterized by contrasts. Here it is important to observe priority in choosing the most distant shades:
- White and black;
- light yellow and chocolate;
- blue, green and burgundy in combination with white.
A winter woman can afford a monochromatic outfit, creating an accent in the form of a bright manicure or juicy berry-colored lipstick. Depending on what winter type you are, the colors may vary. I propose to consider each separately.

Autumn
The colors for autumn correspond to the color diversity that nature itself shows us. Autumn is compatible with almost every complex combination: from chocolate with orange to bottled with blue. Basic shades recommended for this appearance:
- thick or diluted green;
- almost all variations of red, burgundy;
- light and dark chocolate, nut;
- yellow, lemon;
- deep and pale blue;
- orange, beige.
All of these colors have different shades depending on the specific autumn type.

How to conduct a flower study
Stand in front of a mirror in daylight, without makeup, comb your hair back. Take turns holding colored fabrics (see cards with fabric colors) near your face, covering your shoulders with them, like a scarf. You will see what kind of reflection the tissue will give on the face - positive or negative.
Take turns selecting and comparing different colors and shades:
- Silver (cold shade);
- Golden (warm shade);
- Orange (warm shade);
- Light orange (warm shade);
- Purple (cool shade).
- Compare turquoise with sky blue.
If you are into warm tones, turquoise will suit you better than sky blue, and if you are into cool tones, then vice versa. If you are into cool undertones, gold will give a more yellowish tint, while silver will make your skin a more uniform color without creating contrast.
If you are into warm tones, you will get the opposite effect. Golden will make the skin of the face more uniform in color, giving it a healthy golden hue. Hold the color in front of you long enough for your skin to “color” it. Repeat this action several times, slowly. If you don't notice the effect of combining gold and silver, then go straight to orange and purple.
Then do the same with one of the colors versus the black fabric. If you wait a while, you will see dark shadows under your eyes and around your mouth. Indeed, wearing black is quite difficult, although many people think it’s easy. This color highlights facial skin imperfections.
Matching Makeup

Winter
For women with a winter type of appearance, a cold palette is used. A porcelain face can be emphasized with a gray foundation; for dark-skinned beauties, an olive background will be ideal. Transparent powder with shimmer is ideal for both day and evening makeup.
Eye and lip makeup does not need a detailed description. It’s best if it repeats the features of the Snow Queen from Andersen’s fairy tale: metallic shine, cold tones. The color of indigo, northern lights, rich shades of lilac, violet, pink are available for winter beauties in the most saturated versions of shadows and eyeliners. Black mascara can easily be replaced by ultra bright, boldest shades. A wide variety of lip makeup is possible here: from thick cherry to silver-pink.
Autumn
This color type is prone to shimmers of gold and bronze. This is reflected in the choice of foundation, which should be beige, with light golden touches. Yellowish concealer for the under-eye area, warm beige or bronze for the base tone. It is better to choose colorless, translucent powder. For the evening, it is better to use mineral powder and shimmering blush in golden tones.
The eyes of the autumn color type also need shimmer. All bronze shades, emerald green, lilac, eggplant, peach, lilac, honey brown are appropriate here. All the same shades are used in the choice of pencil, but now they acquire very rich tones, ultra bright. The best option for mascara is emerald, chocolate, black.
If it is necessary to outline the lip line, the entire warm palette of shades will be appropriate: copper, sparkling red, burgundy-cherry, eggplant and coral.
Spring
Makeup for spring beauties always involves a palette of warm shades. Fashion experts recommend choosing shimmering shades for an evening dress for special occasions. The foundation is always soft, adapted to apricot or coffee toned skin. Tones used as powder range from light beige to bronzing, imitating a sun tan.
Blush for spring - peach, apricot, reddish or salmon. The eyes are emphasized with warm-colored eyeliners matched to the color of the iris. For example, green eyes will be perfectly shaded by amber and bluish eyeliners, and natural colors will also work: golden brown and pearl.
It is recommended to purchase eye shadows in brown or khaki, and for more striking makeup, rich emerald ones. Mascara is preferable to brown shades, from light coffee to rich chocolate. To create an extravagant look, green or turquoise are perfect. It is better to shade your lips with a tone of beige, apricot, coral, pinkish-golden or bronze.
Summer
A summer woman needs a transparent makeup base. It is better to choose foundations and concealers in an icy palette to better match the given color type. The grayish tint is welcome in this case.
Beige-gray, pastel apricot and cool purple blush are the best helpers in creating an aristocratic look. Suitable eyeshadows for this option are pastel shades of gray, steel, light peach, bluish and smoky shades of blue, brown-gray and gray-violet. With the help of silver shades, a catchy, contrasting eye makeup is created, where the use of blue, brown, purple and lavender eyeliners is appropriate.
Black, gray or purple mascara completes the look, which fully corresponds to the summer flavor. Lips can be highlighted with any shade of lilac or violet, eggplant, burgundy, purple, beige-lilac and muted cherry.

In relation to human appearance, colors are divided into 4 main groups: (1) warm and bright, (2) cold and muted, (3) warm and muted, (4) cold and bright.
