How to make your hands beautiful

There are many tips on how to make your hands beautiful, but here we will list the basic steps that are simply necessary to maintain the beauty of your hands.

  1. Hydration. Due to the fact that the skin of the hands is constantly exposed to aggressive influences, it rapidly loses moisture. Therefore, beautiful hands need constant hydration. Moreover, in addition to maintaining skin health, moisturizing protects nails from splitting. All you need is to purchase a moisturizer and apply it to your hands regularly. It is usually recommended to do this before bed. The effect will be stronger if you use special gloves (in addition, thanks to them, your laundry will not get dirty, because often effective creams leave a greasy film on the skin). If this procedure becomes a habit, your hands will shine in response.
  2. Cleansing. You also need to know how to wash your hands. This procedure turns into a whole science when the goal of preserving the youth and beauty of our hands appears before us. It is extremely important to choose the right detergent so that it does not dry out the skin or leave any other unpleasant sensations. In addition, they must maintain the natural moisture of the skin. Preference can be given to high-quality liquid soap; it is usually softer than bar soap. It is also important to pay attention to the temperature of the water - it should not be too hot or cold (this rule applies not only to hand washing, but also to any work related to water). In addition, doing dishes, floors, laundry, etc. It’s better to wear gloves - in addition to the fact that detergents are not always good for the skin, running water contains many aggressive substances, so it’s better to further protect your beautiful hands. In addition, there are a lot of folk tricks that allow you to make your hands beautiful at the same time as cleansing. For example, instead of plain water for washing, you can use potato decoction.
  3. Protection. The skin of your hands must be protected from external harmful influences. They are protected from frost with gloves and from the sun with sunscreen. Yes, yes, they also need to be protected from the sun. Beautiful hands can be damaged by direct sunlight, especially if your skin is sensitive. Of course, tanning is in fashion, but everything should be in moderation. Therefore, when applying sunscreen to your skin, do not forget about your hands. Moreover, most modern sunscreens also moisturize and nourish the skin, which cannot but have a beneficial effect.
  4. Manicure. Beautiful hands cannot be with unkempt nails. So manicure should become a mandatory procedure. This requires certain skills and craftsmanship, but over time, experience in this matter will increase. Moreover, you can find a lot of tips and instructions on how to properly care for your nails. Therefore, your arsenal of hand care products must include the necessary manicure tools of proper quality.
  5. Nail care. Yes, nails need to be given special attention, especially their hygiene. If the manicure procedure can be performed approximately once a week, then it is necessary to clean the nails of accumulated dirt daily. It is difficult to imagine beautiful hands with grayish (from the dirt accumulated under them) nails. In addition, this is a very comfortable place for a variety of bacteria, which, at any opportunity, will provoke an inflammatory process. You can use special cuticle and nail care products. They keep nails looking healthy and make hygiene easier. If you turn to folk remedies, lemon juice is a great way to cleanse your nails, and it is also very good for the skin.
  6. Nutrition. What we eat directly affects the condition of the body in general and the appearance of the skin in particular. The skin is the largest organ of our body, which performs very important functions, and much depends on the condition of the skin in our well-being and health. Therefore, the rules will be repeated again - choose healthy and wholesome food.

All these simple tips can help make your hands beautiful and well-groomed. You don't even have to go to the salon!

Exercises for beautiful hands

Beautiful hands need physical activity. To keep your arms toned, do exercises. By persistently doing these three exercises every day, you will be able to enjoy the results within a few weeks.

BICEPS DEVELOPMENT

This simple exercise can be done while the kettle is boiling.

  • Stand up straight. Arms are lowered along the body, legs are shoulder-width apart.
  • Take a 1 kg dumbbell or a tin can in each hand.
  • Bend your arm, lifting the dumbbell toward your shoulder.
  • Rotate your hand 45°.
  • Lower slowly.

Perform 20 times with each hand.
TRICEPS TRAINING

This is the best way to tighten sagging skin on your hands. To increase the load, perform the exercise with straight legs.

  • Sit on the edge of the sofa. Place your hands on the sides of your body, fingers facing forward.
  • Rise up from the sofa, leaning on your hands.
  • Squat down with your elbows bent 90°.
  • Stay in this position for a few seconds.

Repeat the exercise 20 times.

PUSH UPS

First, do the exercise with support on your knees, and then move on to push-ups with straight legs.

  • Kneel down, place your hands on the floor and cross your ankles.
  • Bend your elbows, lowering your chest towards the floor. Keep your back straight.
  • Hold this position for a couple of seconds and then slowly straighten your arms.

Exercises

To prevent your wing flaps from fluttering in the wind, full of despondency and sadness, you need to take care of them and keep them in shape. Alas, there are no tricks here - only physical education, only hardcore. We'll have to train.

Try the simplest exercises: take a weight in both hands, stretch them above your head and lower them behind your head, bending your elbows and keeping your back straight. You can do it standing or sitting. Or sit on the edge of a chair or sofa, put your hands on either side of your hips, lean on them, and then carefully move forward so that your butt is hanging. Using the strength of your arms, lower yourself to the floor and rise to the starting position.

Hand skin care

Modern women have long learned to hide their age. Proper facial skin care and the use of various masks with natural and industrially produced vitamins can rejuvenate a woman’s appearance. that no one will give her as many years as she actually has. They say correctly, a woman’s true age can be revealed… by her hands.

Yes, unfortunately, almost all women begin to care for the skin of their hands much later than their facial skin. This is fundamentally wrong.

Our hands are regularly exposed to the harmful effects of soap, dishwashing detergent and other household chemicals. They dry out the skin of your hands, it loses moisture and ages prematurely. Beautiful, well-groomed hands should not only have a neat manicure, but also beautiful, healthy, velvety skin.

It is this kind of pen that distinguishes a true lady from an ordinary housewife.

Despite the fact that every woman has to do a lot of work with her hands during the day, if you put in a little effort, you can certainly achieve beautiful and healthy skin on your hands.

What will your hands tell you?

I think it’s no secret to anyone that it is hands that can reveal the age of their owner. Why?

The skin of your hands is constantly exposed to negative influences - detergents, cold and heat, they get dirty more often than other parts of the body and are subject to the necessary soap treatment several times a day. As a result, it becomes thinner faster and loses elasticity. All this speaks in favor of the fact that the importance of additional hand skin care should never be underestimated. Moreover, it will not be possible to simply hide the imperfections of the skin of the hands - foundation for hands has not yet been invented. If you pay enough attention to them, then your beautiful hands will delight both you and the eyes of others.

Hand care: when?

It must be said that you need to start caring for your hands as early as possible. Then you will be able to avoid many problems in the future. Speaking about specific numbers, you need to start caring for your hands at 15-16 years old. And for those girls whose hands are “familiar” with homework even earlier.

Nutrition for beautiful hands

The skin of your hands, as well as the skin of your face, directly depends on your diet. Greens, dairy and fermented milk products, lean meat, bread, fruits, vegetables, vegetable and olive oil will provide your body with vitamins B, D, calcium, iron, and proteins.

Brittle nails and dry skin are most often caused by a deficiency of vitamins and minerals. Try to diversify your diet and start taking vitamins and minerals. You will see, in 1-2 weeks the result will be noticeable!

Moisturizing your hands

Pay maximum attention to moisturizing the skin of your hands, especially in winter, when most often the skin of your hands becomes dry, flabby, and small cracks appear on it. The fact is that on average, the stratum corneum of the skin of the hands is completely renewed in 30 days. In order for the cell regeneration process not to slow down and stop, the skin of the hands must receive the right amount of moisture and fat.

Our hands are exposed to harmful external factors: wind, frost, sun rays, dry air. All this negatively affects the skin of the hands and causes aging, as well as the appearance of age spots (also called “age spots”).

The skin of the hands loses moisture when in contact with water, washing powders, and soap. If you do not protect the skin of your hands, it loses moisture and becomes wrinkled and flabby.

After applying hand cream with glycerin, natural extracts, essential oil (wheat germ oil, almond oil, rose oil, etc. are suitable), the skin replenishes the lack of moisture, becomes smooth and soft. Do not neglect this procedure!

Apply the cream to the skin of your hands at least 2 times a day. Be sure to apply the cream at night. Then, over a long period of time, when you are resting, the cream will have time to have its positive effect.

As noted, water has a destructive effect. This is especially true for cold, hard water. Therefore, if possible, try not to wash dishes or wash in cold water. Warm water works best for your hands.

  • Always dry your hands thoroughly after contact with water. The longer your hands remain wet, the more moisture your skin loses.
  • Replace your soap with baby soap. In general, it is better to buy soap whose acidity level is close to the natural acidity of the skin (5 pH).
  • If your hands become stained after peeling vegetables, under no circumstances rub them with a pumice stone. You can use regular lemon. To do this, apply lemon juice to the contaminated areas.
  • At least once a week, give your hands warm (25-30 °C) baths. You can add sea or regular salt, herbs (mint, sage, linden blossom, etc.) to them. Leave the hands in the bath for 10-15 minutes.
  • In order to soften the skin of your hands, you can use whey, potato decoction, or sauerkraut juice.
  • Once every 1-2 weeks you can use hand masks, peelings, and wraps. For this purpose, you can use face products and special hand products.

What are beautiful women's hands? Part 1: white hands with lowered sleeves

However, the current attitude towards women's hands cannot be compared with the delight that they caused some 100-150 years ago, when they were a real fetish.

It is interesting that the criteria for an ideal female brush have remained the same for many centuries. She should be narrow, with long fingers, well-groomed nails and, most importantly, soft and snow-white skin. It was by their hands that one could easily distinguish a pampered young lady from a hard-working peasant woman (it was not for nothing that the word “white-handed” became synonymous with “lazy woman” among the peasants).

Margaret Mitchell "Gone with the Wind":

“She looked at her palm and for the first time this year she really saw it. Cold horror squeezed her heart. It was the hand of a stranger, not Scarlett O'Hara - her hand was soft, white, dimpled, soft and limp. And this one was coarse, darkened from tanning, speckled with freckles. Broken nails are cut unevenly, there are hard calluses on the palm, and a half-healed abscess on the thumb. The red scar from the boiling fat that splashed onto her arm a month ago looked scary and ugly.”

Manicure could also be considered a sign of nobility (in the broad sense - caring for nails, and in the narrow sense - growing and painting them). The ancient Egyptians already painted their nails (in the most beautiful color, in their opinion, green).

However, the real cult of nails was observed in China. Noble Chinese women not only painted them red, but also grew them as long as possible. So the nails of the Chinese Empress Cixi reached 20 cm. Only during the Yihetuan Uprising of 1900 did she have to cut them in order to escape from the city unnoticed.

Chinese women who were unlucky with their nails lengthened them by gluing strips of rice paper. And in order to protect the nails from damage, some kind of thimbles were put on them.

In medieval Europe, narrow white brushes were also valued, but nails were not grown or painted, but only polished for shine. At the same time, sleeves and white linen gloves first appeared in the clothing of European noble ladies (until the 12th century, gloves were used either for agricultural work or in battle).

As for the sleeves of the women's dress, they were very narrow and long. At the wrist they could expand, hiding part of the hand, or even hang down to the floor. Long sleeves were another symbol of nobility, evidence that their owner did not engage in “low” physical labor (hence the expression “to work carelessly,” i.e., poorly).

Often long sleeves with a slit were worn over narrow ones or generally only lightly sewn on. The fact is that courtly worship of the “Beautiful Lady” came into fashion, and ladies often tore off the sleeve and handed it to their knight as a sign of favor.

Wolfram von Eschenbach “Parzival” (XIII century):

When the tailors sewed the dress, the prince and princess decided not to sew on one sleeve, so that, having given it to the knight, they would provide the hero with a talisman... This decision should not seem strange to you...

It was in the “courtly” era that the tradition of kissing a lady’s hand arose. Initially, hands were kissed either by the Pope or by his overlord - they say, I am your humble servant. Well, now it means that they have also begun to “serve” the lady.

Kissing women's hands would gain its greatest scope in the 19th century. At the same time, detailed etiquette for this ritual was developed. Only very close acquaintances could afford to grab hands and shower them with kisses—and then, preferably, not in public. In other cases, the lady herself had to extend her hand to the man, and he did not kiss the wrist itself, but only the air above it. You had to bow to your hand, and not bring it to your lips (the latter was considered bad manners, although today it happens all the time).

I. Odoevtseva “On the banks of the Seine”:

“...Bunin...went straight to Teffi, who was sitting on the sofa, bowed to her and said loudly, kissing both her hands:

- Nadezhda Alexandrovna! I kiss hands and other things.

To which Teffi, without thinking, joyfully and loudly exclaimed:

- Oh, thank you, Ivan Alekseevich, thank you! Thanks for the stuff. No one has kissed them for a long time!”

But let's return to the sleeves, which during the Renaissance became especially elegant and sophisticated. In the area of the shoulders they often expand into so-called buffs (from the French bouffer - “to inflate”). Sleeves with slits (both transverse and longitudinal) are becoming especially popular among both sexes. There was nothing “hippie” about this - on the contrary, noble people wanted to show off their snow-white undershirts - which had recently come into use and were very expensive. Such sleeves were usually not sewn on, but rather fastened or tied. Sometimes they consisted of separate parts, connected by ribbons, chains or pins.

In the 16th century, the puffs became wider and wider, giving the female figure the grandeur characteristic of the Baroque era. In 1566, at an official ceremony in Oxford, Elizabeth I complemented them with long gloves reaching to the elbow. During the 17th century, the sleeves either expanded along the entire length (continuous puff to the cuff), then shortened again.

By the 18th century, with the advent of the Rococo era, a new type of sleeve came into fashion - tightly fitting the arm to the elbow, and sharply expanding below. The cascading bell-shaped cuffs are decorated with lace.

The Empire era that replaced Rococo imitates antiquity, so the sleeve either disappears completely or is a short puff at the shoulder. Such exposure of the hands immediately leads to the appearance of extremely long gloves, sometimes reaching to the armpits. Since the “airy” female look is in fashion, gloves are made exclusively from light fabrics - tulle, lace, fine linen. At the same time, mitts also became popular - gloves with open fingers, combining practicality with fashion requirements. In winter, hands were traditionally hidden in fur muffs.

In the 1820s, the sleeve lengthened again. From the wrist to the elbow it is narrow, but at the shoulder it reaches a truly catastrophic width. It is not for nothing that such a sleeve was immediately mockingly nicknamed “gigot” (French “lamb ham”). This style was designed to emphasize a thin waist and maximize the fashionable “sandglass” silhouette.

To maintain the shape of such sleeves, it was necessary to wear sleeves stuffed with down or make a rigid frame. Sometimes the width of the gigot was commensurate with the woman’s height, and fashionistas could only walk through the door sideways. Some men made fun of such sleeves, others admired them.

N. Gogol “Nevsky Prospekt” (1835):

“And what kind of ladies’ sleeves you will see on Nevsky Prospekt! Oh, how lovely! They are somewhat similar to two balloons, so that the lady would suddenly rise into the air if the man did not support her; because it is as easy and pleasant to lift a lady into the air as a glass filled with champagne is brought to your mouth.”

In the 1840s, gigots went out of fashion. According to the “law of the pendulum,” they are replaced by narrow sleeves along the entire length, then pagoda sleeves (narrow and gathered at the shoulder, and widening downwards - sometimes with a slit), then again narrow. And finally, at the end of the 19th century, huge puffs again took revenge, the sewing of which sometimes took up to 2.5 meters of fabric.

As for gloves, in the 19th century a real cult developed around them. But more on that in the next article.
