  4. Soak a piece of cloth in warm water. Place the paper with the pattern down and attach it to the selected location. Place a piece of wet cloth on top and hold for 35 seconds.
  5. Without removing the fabric, carefully peel off the edge of the paper and make sure that the design is completely transferred to the body. If this does not happen, hold the wet cloth for a few more seconds. Next, remove the paper and fabric.
  6. Wait for the tattoo to dry and spray some hairspray on it. This will keep the tattoo looking attractive for several days.

Myth or reality?

Pen

According to dermatologists, the biggest problem that will arise from a person drawing and writing with ink on his hands is an allergic reaction. It can occur once or periodically, but not in all people.

Therefore, someone, without fear of anything, writes cheat sheets on their skin for years, without listening to their parents’ warnings, and nothing happens.

Often, parents simply don’t like the unaesthetic appearance of their child’s painted hands and they drag in oncology, sepsis and other diseases dangerous to life and health.

Felt pen

Felt-tip pens can pose a great danger to small children. Kids love to draw on surrounding objects and of course on themselves. The paint on the felt-tip pen lies unevenly on the surface, so a child can often lick it.

Therefore, a child under three years old should be explained that they should not be licked or put in the mouth. It is better to purchase high-quality stationery for drawing. It does not harm the body, since it is hypoallergenic and even if a child puts such a marker in his mouth, he will not be poisoned by the caustic paint.

These markers are made with water-based ink and are easily washed off the skin. They have a low concentration of heavy metals and each marker is equipped with a ventilated cap. This packaging has a quality mark symbol.

Pen ink

In order to understand how harmful pen ink is to health, let’s try to study their composition. Are they really that dangerous for the skin?

Gel pen tattoos

With blue and black gel pens you can draw a tattoo that at first glance is not easy to distinguish from a real one. There are 2 ways to apply a tattoo yourself with a gel pen: with shallow punctures with a needle and without them. The latter will last only a few days. If you make a temporary tattoo with punctures, it can last for several months. Drawings with gel pens are applied either through a stencil or drawn by hand, giving preference to clear fragments.

Method without puncture:

  • prepare the skin for a temporary tattoo by disinfecting it;
  • draw a sketch on tracing paper with a pencil;
  • shade the sketch with a gel pen without going beyond the boundaries;
  • attach the tracing paper to the skin with the pattern down, apply a wet sponge on top for 3 minutes;
  • remove the tracing paper;
  • draw the tattoo with a gel pen directly on the skin.

Puncture method.

This option is painful and involves maintaining sterility.

  1. Draw the outline of the design using eyeliner or tracing paper onto the body.
  2. When making shallow punctures with a needle on the skin, immediately apply a gel line, leading it directly behind the needle. Draw the drawing several times in this way.
  3. After 2 minutes, remove excess gel paste with alcohol.
  4. Disinfect the tattoo site additionally with alcohol.

Types and recipes of pasta

Depending on what kind of henna is used in the preparation process, pastes are divided into ready-made compositions and pastes with natural henna. Ready-made paste is more suitable for those who professionally draw and master the mehendi technique. In this case, the advantages of ready-made formulations are that they:

  • ensure rapid development of the design on the body - immediately after its application;
  • allow you to create a pattern that is equally bright on different areas of the skin;
  • save your time.

However, ready-made pastes are not without drawbacks, in particular:

  • once applied, the drawing cannot be adjusted;
  • patterns remain on the skin for no more than 7 days.

It is more convenient for beginners to work with natural paste. It is easy to prepare it at home. The advantages of a self-prepared composition are that:

  • the pattern will appear after a few hours, and the details of the pattern can be changed if you are not very happy with them;
  • the design will stay on the body for more than 20 days;
  • homemade pastas are cheaper.

The only drawback of a paste with natural henna is that the pattern will not be the same in intensity on smooth and keratinized areas of the skin. In the latter case (on the palms and soles) the color will be brighter. In order for the pattern to be applied easily and last longer, the quality of the source materials must be high. Henna for hair coloring, which is sold in stores, is not always suitable for mehendi. The fact is that the powder must be very fine. There is one simple way to get out of this situation - grind the henna in a coffee grinder until it looks like fine dust.

There are several recipes for making pasta at home, the shelf life of which varies depending on the ingredients.

Tea based recipe

This composition can be kept in the refrigerator for 2 days. It includes:

  1. half a cup of strong, freshly brewed tea;
  2. juice of half a lemon;
  3. 6 tsp Sahara;
  4. 8 tsp henna.

In a ceramic bowl, mix tea leaves and lemon juice. Add sugar, henna, stir well until smooth. After 20 minutes the pasta is ready.

To prepare this paste you need to take:

  1. instant coffee (5 tsp);
  2. warm water (1 tbsp.);
  3. 2 regular packs of henna;
  4. eucalyptus oil (5 drops);
  5. clove oil (5 drops).

Place the coffee dissolved in water on the fire and evaporate by a third. Add henna and oils. The paste should be infused for 2-3 hours and used immediately after this time has expired.

Add to half a glass of chifir (strong thick tea):

  1. 2 regular packs of henna;
  2. juice of half a lemon;
  3. any vegetable oil (2 drops).

The mixture must be thoroughly stirred without leaving any lumps. The paste is infused for 5 hours. This amount of paste should be enough for 2-3 drawings.

How to draw a tattoo with a pen - simple drawings

Simple drawings are those where there is no need to detail the fragments, carefully drawing them. These can be geometric fragments, flowers, leaves, birds, insects, etc. Below we will show how to make simple drawings using the example of a cardiogram.

Wipe the area to be tattooed with hydrogen peroxide, then apply the outline of the future design.

Draw the outlines. The tattoo is ready.

Compliance with safety precautions, can a tattoo with a pen cause allergies?

With this method of application, the design is simply applied to the skin; it can also be fixed with minor punctures of a thin needle.

Do not be afraid of this, because the shallow depth of impact does not pose a serious danger. Some risks still exist.

To ensure safety rules when performing such a tattoo, the following is required:

  • Shave the area where the design was applied.
  • Thoroughly treat the skin area with a disinfectant.
  • Select the thinnest possible needle and disinfect it.
  • Use personal protective equipment (sterile cotton wool, gloves, etc.).

To ensure normal ink transferability, a small area is processed in an inconspicuous place.

If after a while itching appears and the skin turns red, it means that your body does not tolerate this particular paint well and you need to choose other materials, or abandon the idea altogether.

Tips for applying a tattoo with a pen

  1. If you have chosen the method of applying a tattoo using paper or tracing paper, but you have dark skin, then you need to keep the wet cloth or moistened sponge longer, spying on the transfer process from time to time.
  2. You need to remove the tracing paper or paper slowly and carefully so as not to smear the drawing.
  3. If you decide to choose an inscription as a tattoo and translate it using paper, then write it first with a pencil, then turn the sheet over and point it with a pen. This way your inscription will be read correctly.
  4. If you drew a sketch incorrectly, missed words, or something went wrong, moisten a cotton pad with alcohol and wipe off the excess.

How long does a drawn tattoo last?

The shelf life of a tattoo depends on the technique used to apply it:

NameCharacteristicDuration of existence
Airbrush methodThe image is applied with an airbrushAbout a week
TranslationBy applying a pattern on paper to wet skinUp to 4 days
MehendiPerformed using henna, baby powder and a template1 month
Bio tattooThe image is painted with colored paints, the contours are decorated with rhinestones or stones10 days
