Post-procedure care: before and after photos

After the session, there is a recovery period, during which the cells that were damaged by the needle are regenerated; the skin needs to be provided with the specified care.

First, you should apply cold, dry ice compresses to relieve swelling and redness in the selected area. Immediately begin to smear the tissue with an antiseptic and healing ointment every hour or hour and a half.

By the third day, a protective layer usually appears, after which you can begin to carefully wash your face. You should not rub it with a towel, but simply soak it with a dry handkerchief.

After the crust appears, it is enough to smear the skin with products five times a day. You cannot rip it off, otherwise an infection may enter the body through the blood, which will lead to illness.

After a day or two, itching begins, which causes the crust to begin to peel off. After microblading, it ends quickly, as it is gentle on the skin.

Follow these other instructions until the end of the recovery period (2 – 3 weeks):

  1. Don't go out into direct sunlight without eye protection.
  2. Do not visit the bathhouse, sauna, or swimming pool, as these places have high humidity, which affects the premature leaching of the dye.
  3. Do not sunbathe under natural or artificial conditions.
  4. Avoid sudden changes in temperature.

Microblading of eyelids or tattooing - aesthetics of the future

Expressive eyes are the success of a woman who intends to conquer and bestow her beauty on others. To highlight the magic of the eyes, a variety of decorative cosmetics are used.

Therefore, representatives of the fair sex have to devote a few minutes every day to applying make-up. Applying mascara, highlighting the eyelids with a pencil, modeling the shape with the help of shadows are the well-known secrets of a bewitching look. However, women are not always ready to devote a large amount of time to makeup, nor are they ready to sacrifice natural beauty. After all, decorative cosmetics negatively affect the condition of the skin: its elasticity, moisture, and firmness. Constant use of cosmetics can result in an acceleration of the aging process of the skin. Despite everything, I want to remain beautiful and well-groomed.

In this case, eyelid microblading is an alternative solution that allows you to combine irresistibility with caring for your natural beauty. The procedure itself is a tattoo - the application of permanent pigment in the interlash space. Microblading prevails over the application of ordinary makeup, because it is particularly durable. Under the influence of water, precipitation, or contact with things, the pigment does not smudge or wear off.

The cosmetic procedure allows you to remain well-groomed and bright in any weather and circumstances. Careless movements will no longer be an obstacle, and an attractive appearance will become a girl’s calling card.

My macro beauty - microblading

Hi all! I doubted whether it was worth writing about the procedure as part of the flash mob, but I saw that the girls were writing about eyelash extensions and decided to do it. Moreover, this procedure really literally turned my beauty life upside down and divided it into “before” and “after”. For the better. Who is interested in learning about the experience of microblading, welcome to the cat!

I'll start with some background. I've never had eyebrows. More precisely, there were, but light, not growing at the ends, thin. Somewhere in my teens I started to think that something was missing on my face, and that’s when I bought my first pencils, eye shadows, and eyebrow markers. The basket also included castor oil, various brushes and growth serums. Of course, plucking and shaving could not be done without plucking and shaving, because in some magazine it was written that this causes increased growth.

Here are a couple of "before" photos. I apologize for the phone quality, I didn’t plan to write a review somewhere then.

Something is missing…

It's a rare moment when I'm 100% without makeup)

In general, I have never had any special complexes about eyebrows (as well as about lips, eyelashes and other parts of the body). I treat everything with humor, since there are no eyebrows, it means that someone from above decided so and he knows better.

But the desire to improve myself, save time, money and not spend every morning drawing what was missing one day gave me the idea to do fashionable microblading. I liked the photos, the light shading effect, the more natural look than, say, tattooing using ancient techniques.

In addition, my best friend had the procedure done and raved about it.

Most of all I was afraid of the unnatural effect, because removing freshly made eyebrows would be difficult, to put it mildly. But I made up my mind.

The procedure began with an anesthetic cream applied to the eyebrow area under the film.

Like this:

While the cream was working, they discussed the color of my eyebrows and my wishes for shape.

About half an hour later, the cream and all cosmetics were washed off the face, and the shape of the eyebrows was marked. It was recommended to thicken my eyebrows for balance as my face is large and wide.

Then they put me on the couch, covered me with a blanket and began the execution. I won’t say that it was unbearably painful, but the sensation of pain was present, despite the anesthesia. Comparable to getting a tattoo on the body or feeling like a cat is scratching one spot several times. However, what bothered me more was the monotonous lying with my eyes closed.

After the procedure, the eyebrow area turned slightly red and swollen, they took me to the mirror and showed me the beauty. To be honest, at first I was scared, the new eyebrows were so bright and thick. The view was very unusual. But the master warned that the color would gradually fade.

Photo immediately after the procedure:

Recommendations for care were given and a correction date was set. Since I have oily skin and after the first correction there were still light spots, I did the correction twice.

Photo the day after the procedure:

Happy that I didn’t need to paint my eyebrows, I painted the rest of my face.

Photo of eyebrows from afar after final healing:

Before/after collage:

After a while, the eyebrows healed and acquired a pleasant cool-brown shade, just as I wanted. Now I am incredibly happy with the decision and the result. You no longer need to spend an extra 5 minutes on your eyebrows in the morning, you are not afraid to go to the pool, play sports, you feel like a Human!

Thanks to everyone who looked at my post!

Have you done microblading? How was it?

Features of the procedure

Eyelid microblading is no different in pigment application technology from the eyebrow microblading procedure. Using a special cosmetic instrument consisting of thin needles, the master applies pigment to the eyelids. During the procedure, it is necessary to control the depth of needle penetration and speed. These factors influence the naturalness of highlighting the eyes, the thickness and saturation of color.

Make an appointment

Upon completion of the procedure, slight swelling may occur around the eyes. The use of high-quality instruments prevents pain and reduces the duration of the procedure. To prevent the client from being frightened by unpleasant sensations, the master can also use superficial anesthesia.

The pigments used to create the effect of expressive eyes are absolutely environmentally friendly and therefore do not cause irritation or allergic reactions.

The effect of eyelid microblading is an imitation of applying eyeliner. The artists manage to achieve a natural effect, and smooth lines of uniform shade make the makeup neat and aesthetic. Eyelashes visually become thicker, eyes become brighter and deeper.

To adjust the shape of the eyes, if the girl wishes, you can use techniques for drawing various lines. In this case, it is possible to stretch out the eyes or vice versa.

How does the procedure work?

First, let's start with preparing for eyelid microblading. Firstly, you need to come to the salon without makeup . The day before, you do not need to drink coffee, alcohol or take medications that interfere with blood clotting. Decide in advance what type of arrows you want, thickness, length, shape, etc. Make your choice, paying attention to your own preferences, the shape of your eyes and the expert’s advice.

Typically, thin liners are suitable for small, Asian eyes, as it visually enlarges them. Shaded arrows are suitable for those with heavy eyelids; they also make the eyes appear larger. Wide arrows are suitable for owners of large almond-shaped eyes. You also need to decide on the length of the arrow.

If you cannot decide on a choice, ask the master to draw you a sketch of the arrows so that you can more accurately determine which shape will suit you best.

So, when the procedure itself begins, the master numbs the skin (more on this a little later), rubs it several times to remove excess fat and moisture, draws a sketch and begins to trace it with a needle. The whole process consists of the master manually injecting pigment under your skin, paying attention to a pre-selected shape.

When the procedure comes to an end, the master instills special drops into the eyes, which moisturize the eyelids, relieve swelling and other unpleasant sensations.

Usually, the procedure takes about an hour or two. After this, you receive care tips (you will also learn more about this below) and look at the result. If you don’t like something or are not entirely happy with the result, don’t despair, in a couple of weeks the pigment will be almost completely washed out, because the time for correction comes, where you can pay attention to the nuances of the first procedure and prevent them.

How to prepare for the microblading procedure?

Professionals suggest following a few simple recommendations so that the procedure is painless and the cosmetologist’s work brings the desired result:

  • a week before the procedure, you should refrain from taking blood thinning medications;
  • Eliminate alcohol, coffee and energy drinks from your diet the day before;
  • 5–6 hours before the planned microblading, try to drink less liquid;
  • Before the procedure, you should cleanse your face, remove makeup and eyelash extensions.

Features of the problem

A drooping eyelid is a “heavy” upper eyelid, lowered onto the movable one, which creates the appearance of a kind of skin “hood”. According to some aesthetes, this feature gives a woman a slightly sad, languid and slightly mysterious look, but the carriers of this feature themselves do not think so.

Some ladies prefer to take radical measures to eliminate this problem , for example, resort to surgery. However, this is not the most affordable or safe option. In addition, the result may not live up to expectations - remember, for example, the famous Renee Zellweger, who after surgery lost her famous signature squint, and with it her individual charm.

Other women choose a safer solution to the problem - change their lifestyle, do special exercises and gymnastics for the eyes, perform massage, use ointments and creams, prepare masks and compresses according to folk recipes. However, these methods are not suitable for eliminating a defect if it is congenital.

The third group of girls prefers not to eliminate this feature at all; they know special tricks and subtleties of proper makeup that can turn this seemingly disadvantage into an advantage.

Drooping eyelids can arise as a result of certain factors or be a congenital feature. Often the causes are hereditary predisposition, age, sudden loss of excess weight, nationality, allergies, poor lifestyle or swelling.

Despite the aesthetic “zest” that drooping eyelids give to a woman’s face, this feature also has disadvantages, namely the difficulty of applying makeup:

  • cosmetic shadows adhere poorly to the skin and slide into the crease of the eyelid;
  • it is difficult to draw neat lines, their ends can “break off”, the eyeliner can imprint;
  • There may be traces of mascara on the upper eyelid.

To avoid all these problems, and also turn this disadvantage into an advantage, you should apply makeup correctly. The correct design of the arrows will help you deal with the problem especially reliably.

Eyelid microblading procedure

Before starting work, the artist must discuss with the client the features of the tattoo: the color and saturation of the pigment, the shape of the line, the presence of a cosmetic design. When preparing for a procedure such as eyelid microblading, the price of the service is negotiated in advance, as is the need to apply an anesthetic. When all technical aspects are approved, the master proceeds to cleansing the skin and treating the skin with an anesthetic. After the preparatory stage, pigmentation begins. It is important that the applied components are absolutely harmless to humans. It is worth considering that microblading also involves correction. 45 days after applying the pigment, you need to contact a professional to adjust the shape.

Types of manual eyelid tattooing

Speaking about eyelid microblading, winged eyeliner can be created using various techniques. Depending on this, these types of procedures are distinguished.

  • Classic. This type of tattoo involves the usual application of a dye to the upper eyelid in an even layer over the lash line.
  • Interciliary. It is performed, as a rule, on the lower eyelid, in case of insufficiently thick and noticeable lower eyelashes.
  • Option with shading. It can be performed both on the upper and lower eyelids, both in the classical and in the interlash technique.

The girl decides which option to choose based on her own preferences and the characteristics of her facial features.

Microblading: advantages and features

There are several compelling arguments why eyelid tattooing is the best solution for everyday makeup:

  • rational use of your time: with microblading, the eyelids always look impressive, but you shouldn’t take time to draw even arrows;
  • the use of a professional tool does not allow severe redness or bruising;
  • the pigment is injected into the upper layer of the dermis, due to which the skin does not stretch;
  • pigmented skin looks both expressive and natural, which is very practical for daily makeup;
  • the pigment does not wear off due to the influence of external factors and does not disappear under the influence of water;
  • The composition, which is safe for health, does not cause negative consequences after the procedure.

How long the effect of eyelid microblading will last depends on the characteristics of a person’s skin. The pigment may fade over time in girls with oily skin. Also, when exposed to direct sunlight, it is worth applying protective products to maintain expressiveness.

Cons of the procedure

Like any cosmetic intervention, eyelid microblading has both its advantages and certain disadvantages. Its main disadvantages include the following.

  • Soreness. The eyes are a rather sensitive part of the face, and even despite the use of anesthesia, unpleasant sensations may still be present. In cases where pain relief is not possible due to contraindications, the woman will have to endure some pain during the procedure.
  • Undesirable consequences in case of dishonesty of the master. Unfortunately, it is often possible to encounter negligence of a specialist, manifested in insufficient sterilization and disinfection of instruments. Unsterile devices, unfortunately, can lead to a number of skin and health problems in general. Therefore, before applying for such a service, you should not neglect to ask the specialist about methods for disinfecting instruments.

Editor's choice: How to do facial massage and effective massage techniques

  • Swelling of the eyelid. After the procedure, you need to tolerate this side effect for some time.
  • Possibility of partial loss of eyelashes due to the impact of the needle on the hair follicles. You should not be afraid of this, because within two to three weeks a new eyelash will grow in the old place.

Most of the negative aspects are associated with an insufficiently serious approach in choosing a master. The remaining disadvantages are temporary.

When not to do microblading

Since the procedure is associated with a violation of the integrity of the skin, there are a number of contraindications to it, which can be either temporary or categorical.

Temporary contraindications include:

  • the client's condition under the influence of alcohol and drugs;
  • the presence of any inflammatory processes;
  • elevated temperature, regardless of the cause;
  • colds;
  • high blood pressure;
  • the presence of injuries or various skin lesions in the eyebrow area;
  • taking antibiotics.
  • pregnancy and lactation, as well as menstruation;
  • the presence of allergic reactions (depending on the degree and type, this may be a strict contraindication)

Absolute contraindications for which microblading is strictly prohibited include:

  • the presence of infectious diseases (hepatitis, syphilis, HIV) - this poses a danger for the master, who, if injured, can introduce an infection into the blood;
  • poor blood clotting - this can lead to bleeding when blood vessels are damaged, in such cases it is very difficult to stop the bleeding, it can also lead to curvature of the pattern and washing off of the pigment;
  • psychological diseases;
  • epilepsy – due to stress and pain, the client may experience an epileptic attack, which threatens his life;
  • diabetes mellitus - in the presence of such a disease, wounds take much longer to heal than in ordinary patients;
  • oncological diseases;
  • susceptibility to scar formation - in this case, even small scratches and damage to the epithelium form visible scars during healing;
  • the presence of moles or inflammatory rashes on the eyebrows.

If you have the above contraindications, you should refuse to undergo the microblading procedure, since no aesthetic effect is worth your health and life.

How to choose a microblading artist

The result of microblading also depends on the individual characteristics of the woman: skin structure, healing speed and, of course, the professionalism of the specialist. The craftsman must have a steady hand to cut the skin to the same depth.

If we summarize the recommendations of experts, we get the following algorithm:

  1. Observe the master’s work as a whole: are your ideas about beauty similar?
  2. Study reviews and before/after photos: on beauty salon websites, artist pages, on Instagram (hashtags: #microblading, #microbladingeyebrows and others). Ideally, talk personally to girls who have had manual tattooing done by one or another artist, and look at their results.
  3. When you come for the procedure, pay attention to whether the room is clean and the instruments are sterile. Each client must have his own pigment and his own blade.
  4. Don't try to save money: it's about your face. High-quality microblading cannot be cheap.

Carefully consider the requirements for future tattooing, because this is not a pencil that can be erased and reapplied. Take a palette of shadows, sit in front of the mirror and experiment with the color and shape of the arcs.

Stop at the option that will highlight your appearance, take a photo and show it to the master.

  • One to two weeks before your session, stop plucking your hair. It is important for a specialist to see the natural shape in order to understand with what thickness and in what direction to draw the arc.
  • Do not go to the sauna, as after it the skin becomes rougher and the pigment takes root less well.
  • For two or three days, give up alcohol, antibiotics, coffee and any junk food. Substances contained in these products will negatively affect the quality of work, and the result may not be as desired.

How is microblading of eyebrows and lips performed?

At the beginning of the procedure, the master must understand the client’s request: what area does he want to perform permanent makeup on, what technique does he prefer, and what color does he want to get in the end? Then the tattoo artist can offer his own options for microblading of eyebrows and lips, taking into account an individual approach to the client. After discussing the options, the master first draws a sketch of the eyebrows or lips, taking into account the individual characteristics of the client’s face and color type.

After approving the sketch, the master applies primary anesthesia in the form of a gel or cream to the skin. Some specialists still use injections, but today there are many alternative options for pain medications. After the painkiller takes effect, the master wipes the skin with an antiseptic and draws the outline of the sketch with a needle, breaks the integrity of the skin inside and applies secondary anesthesia to it. Then the master fills the drawn outline with pigment.

Since during any tattoo the integrity of the skin is compromised, the epidermis needs some time to recover. Basically, within 1-2 weeks, crusts appear on the tattooed area, which gradually peel off.

During this period, experts do not recommend staying in the sun for a long time, visiting the beach, swimming pool, or cleansing your face with scrubs and peels.

Microblading of eyebrows and lips can be performed using different techniques; let’s look at each of them in more detail.

What is microblading and what types does it come in?

Microblading is a method of manually shaping eyebrows by injecting dye under the skin. The depth of penetration is small - 2 mm, and it is carried out using a special handle (handle), at the end of which is attached a disposable blade consisting of several needles soldered to each other. These blades make shallow cuts, which are then filled with paint.

There are two types of microblading - Eastern and European.

Oriental microblading is more difficult, since the hairs are drawn in different directions and have different lengths. The master needs to correctly distribute and harmonize such lines, so the eyebrows look more natural.

European microblading uses strokes of equal length and thickness, which are applied in the same direction and at equal distances. Since natural hairs cannot be so identical, you can notice the unnaturalness of the eyebrows.

Who is microblading recommended for?

This procedure is suitable for women who are dissatisfied with the appearance of their eyebrows - they are not satisfied with the shape, the bend of the arch, or the eyebrows are too thin and sparse. In order not to suffer from the pain of drawing your eyebrows with a pencil every day, it is better to consult a specialist. This way you will be sure that your eyebrows will take on a beautiful shape for a long time.

It is also important to inform that the specialist will offer peeling of the eyebrow area before the procedure to rid the skin of old dead skin cells. And before visiting a specialist, it is better not to perform additional manipulations with the eyebrows - leave them in their natural form, as they are. There is no need to specifically pluck them.

What are the pros and cons of microblading

Like any beauty procedure, microblading has its supporters and opponents. The first claim that:

  1. It is very comfortable. You don't need to draw your eyebrows with pencil or eyeshadow every morning.
  2. It is beautiful. Eyebrows are bright, but not vulgar. Natural, but well-groomed.
  3. Microblading is practically painless and much less traumatic (compared to regular tattooing). The entire procedure lasts no more than two hours (from creating a sketch to applying the ointment). Over the next couple of hours the swelling subsides.

Microblading is designed to save women from lack of sleep. After all, with perfect eyebrows you can sleep a little more in the morning. This is an opportunity to look well-groomed for lovers of sports and travel, for young mothers, business women, busy and active people.

Natalia Raduzhnaya

“Then where do the negative reviews and photos with disfigured eyebrows come from?” - you ask. Firstly, manual tattooing is offered by thousands of artists, and only a few are professionals. And, naturally, high-quality handmade work is expensive.

Secondly, microblading requires surgical precision: if you make the incision a little deeper, a scar will appear, and if it is not deep enough, the pigment will migrate, distorting the lines, and over time will come out along with dead cells.

Olga Brukh

permanent makeup master

If there is a vascular injury, there is a high chance of getting a completely different eyebrow color than you expected. If the pigment mixes with iron-containing substances in the blood, it can give a bluish tint to the drawn hairs.

Thirdly, after micropigmentation, all hygiene recommendations must be strictly followed. Some girls neglect them.

Disadvantages of microblading:

  1. High price. From five to several tens of thousands of rubles.
  2. There are few good masters.
  3. Correction is required approximately every six months.
  4. Quite a long rehabilitation period.

I am not a fan of microblading. Because any cut is accompanied by bleeding and scarring. In the case of microblading, these will be barely noticeable microscars. But if you consider that skin healing is individual for everyone, where is the guarantee that an unsightly scar will not form at the site of the incision? Such scars will have to be removed with a laser.

Temporary eyebrow tattoo or powder spraying

Photo 2 shows the hair microblading technique a year after the procedure and after correction with powder spraying.

Modern techniques last from 6 months (light powdery effect) to 2 years. How long it will take depends on the chosen technique and skin type. The pigment disappears most quickly with a light powder coating and microblading done correctly.

Why? Because these are the most atraumatic and superficial techniques. The skin quickly regenerates and the pigment comes out along with dead cells.

Where can I get microblading done?

This cosmetic surgery has become popular for women of different ages. This service is available in many beauty salons and tattoo studios in Moscow. And in other areas they do this procedure quite well. Advertising can also be found on the Internet. Masters post it on their websites and social networks.

The price ranges from 5 thousand to 20 thousand rubles. But be sure, before you trust a specialist, look at photos of his work, read reviews, and ask about all the risks.

Don't forget that microblading is a meticulously precise job. Only a real master can do this professionally and well.
