Creating the Foundation

The sequence of actions in the soap making process looks like this:

  1. Take 100 g of soap base and cut it into small portion cubes.
  2. Melt in the microwave for 30-45 seconds, being careful and note that you do not need to boil the soap. Therefore, check how the mass behaves from time to time.
  3. After the soap base has completely melted, let the soap cool slightly.
  4. Now you can add oil, vitamin E and dry ingredients which will provide the exfoliating effect. Mix everything together for a minute, then pour into a silicone mold.

DIY scrub soap
What can make your skin so soft and tender, promote rapid renewal and cleansing? Of course, there is nothing better than scrub soap. It performs several important tasks at once: the constituent oils care for the skin, soften, nourish and moisturize, while the exfoliating components tone, remove dead cells, stimulate blood circulation, increase skin tone and even help in the fight against cellulite.

The first thing we need is base oil. We choose it depending on the desired properties of the masterpiece being created. Apricot kernel oil and castor oil are considered universal for skin types. For dry skin, there are no better oils than almond or olive oil. For oily skin, grape seed oil is considered optimal.

Second : we need abrasive particles. For deep cleaning and exfoliation, ground apricot kernels or walnut shells are perfect (you can make them yourself). For a medium degree of cleaning, it is best to use ground coffee, oatmeal or corn flakes, ground almonds, coconut flakes, and ground poppy seeds. But that's not all. For belongings, you can take any dried flowers: chamomile flowers, rose petals, mint, saffron, calendula, lavender and much more.

Third : you need to choose a scent. Essential oils are an indispensable companion to handmade soap. They very subtly and smoothly affect the nervous and endocrine systems, mobilize the vital forces of the body. This could be: rosemary, bergamot, rose, tea tree, juniper, orange, lemon, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, lemon balm, mint, ginger, cloves and others. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the features of the fragrances, because... they have not only cosmetic, but also medicinal properties.

Fourth : no scrub can do without components that care and nourish the skin. This could be honey, oil extracts of vitamins E and A, milk powder, cosmetic clay, sea salt.

Now let's take a closer look at the properties of the components.

  • Base oils:
  • Apricot kernel oil is universal for all skin types. It has high biological activity, is well absorbed, increases skin elasticity and nourishes it. Gives soap conditioning properties
  • Olive oil is an optimal remedy for restoring dry skin, healing wounds and bruises. Has a rejuvenating effect. It goes well in the recipe with any other oils (palm, castor and coconut). From soap properties: creates fine foam.
  • Almond oil is rich in vitamins, provitamins, polyunsaturated fatty acids, minerals, and glucose. Suitable for dry and sensitive skin - restores water-lipid balance, regenerates, relieves irritation. Gives a fairly stable, but small foam.
  • Palm oil is considered optimal for making soap with your own hands, because... increases its shelf life. Typically used in conjunction with olive, castor and coconut oils. Gives soap hardness and rich foam.
  • Coconut oil has anti-aging properties, perfectly protects, moisturizes, softens and nourishes the skin. Suitable for all types. Gives soap hardness and whiteness. The foam is fluffy, with light bubbles, but not stable.
  • Cocoa butter is a unique product in composition. It contains stearic, palmitic, oleic and linolenic acids, as well as vitamin A. Optimal for dry skin. Has a softening, regenerating, anti-allergenic effect. Used for medicinal purposes for eczema and fungal infections. Adds the necessary hardness to the soap. The foam is stable and creamy.

Abrasive particles for scrub:

  • Natural ground coffee (slept) is an excellent helper in the fight against cellulite and stretch marks. Coffee activates metabolism, cleanses the body of toxins, tones and tightens the skin. Coffee also contains antioxidants and elements necessary for the skin: magnesium, potassium, delezo, manganese.
  • Pancake week is an excellent peeling for the skin. Deeply and effectively cleanses, stimulates cell renewal. Poppy peeling easily and delicately, without damaging the deep layers, removes dead cells from the surface of the skin, making it smooth, elastic, and radiant.
  • Cereals
  • Finely ground sugar is a natural product used to polish dry skin and make it smooth and shiny. Sugar exfoliates, removes dead cells, cleanses pores.
  • Any finely ground dried flower contained in soap, in addition to an excellent massage effect, will have exfoliating and anti-inflammatory properties, saturate skin cells with oxygen and beneficial substances.

Fragrances (essential oils):

  • For dry skin: rose, sandalwood, rosewood, chamomile, jasmine, geranium.
  • For oily skin: bergamot, grapefruit, lemon balm, lemon, rosemary, cloves.
  • For combination skin: ylang-ylang, mint, lemon, rosewood.
  • For wrinkles and sagging skin: sandalwood, lime, neroli, rose, nutmeg, myrrh.
  • For stress reactions of the skin: rosewood, chamomile, rose, neroli, ylang-ylang.

Care and nutrition: Natural honey is a bactericidal, tonic, emollient. Powdered milk is a skin nourishing component, rich in calcium, natural enzymes, vitamins, and minerals. Cosmetic clay is a unique natural remedy with therapeutic and cosmetic effects. Clay contains many essential mineral salts and trace elements: silica, phosphate, iron, nitrogen, calcium, magnesium, potassium, radium, etc.

And “for dessert”, I offer you a wonderful recipe for the “Wind of Change” soap-scrub with blue clay. It has an excellent tonic, bactericidal and mild exfoliating effect.

Ingredients:

  • 100 g clear soap base,
  • 1 tsp. blue clay,
  • 1/3 tsp. olive oil,
  • 3-4 drops of rosemary essential oil,
  • 3-4 drops of mint oil,
  • 2 drops tea tree oil,
  • 1 tsp. poppy seeds,
  • blue food coloring (optional)

Before adding clay, dilute the powder with a small amount of water. After this, mix it with the melted soap base. Now you can add poppy seeds, olive and essential oils. Mix everything thoroughly. Blue clay most often colors soap gray. If you want a rich blue color, add a little blue dye at the very end. And now, in a few hours you will be able to use your new wonderful scrub soap.
