How to look perfect in a black and white photo: makeup artists gave advice

Very often, after seeing makeup on someone else, we do it ourselves. Then, having gotten used to a certain makeup, we use it quite often. But this is not true, because in different cases (work, party, picnic in nature, etc.) you should select the most suitable makeup.

Black and white makeup is considered classic.

When is black and white makeup appropriate?

There are situations in which makeup using black and white colors will be the most competent beauty solution.

  • In strict business looks, it will emphasize the overall restraint of the color scheme. In this case, accents such as smoky eyes or wide arrows with intense outline are excluded (these options for black and white makeup will come in handy in the evening).
  • You can also experiment with black and white in art makeup: just draw double arrows with a white stripe over a black one - and you will get an unusual make-up that will attract attention.

How to apply it correctly?

When performing makeup with black textures, you need to follow some rules. First, we begin to paint the lower eyelid, using eyeliner or shadows, you can use a cream shade. Then you can move on to the upper eyelid; all color combinations must be shaded. Then highlight the far corner of the eye along the lash line with a thick pencil. The tone you should choose is charcoal black.

The area between the eyebrows and the moving eyelid must be powdered with a natural color, i.e. The shade should exactly match your skin tone. Thanks to this palette, it will be easier to do makeup with black shadows.

In order to remove crumbled particles under the eyes without much difficulty, you need to apply sorbitol cream before starting coloring. Next, we add lightness to the image: to do this, apply a dark blue tone on top, matte or with a metallic sheen. In addition to the examples of correct application already given, do not forget about the area of skin that is located above the moving eyelid. It also needs to be painted over, in this case the black will look luxurious, and the makeup will not show gloom.

Black and white makeup for brown eyes

A distinctive feature of brown eyes is that they always stand out on the face. There are no situations in which they would find themselves in the background; even if the emphasis in makeup is on the lips, brown eyes still attract attention.

What suits girls with brown eyes best is makeup with graphic black arrows (you can do it in an oriental style - with lining the eyes along the contour and connecting/extending the arrows in the inner corners). And adding a little contrast to the image will help by drawing the mucous membrane with white kajal.

Makeup in black and white tones for blue eyes

Blue-eyed girls should act differently - oriental makeup with sweeping black arrows will not suit them. The fact is that uncompromising black suppresses the tenderness of blue. As a result, makeup does not emphasize the eyes, but, on the contrary, visually reduces them, makes them more faded, and deprives them of expressiveness.

Therefore, having only black and white products on hand, avoid heavy coverage when it comes to shadows and strong pressure on the pencil. No graphics needed here. But the haze will come in handy.

  • If you have a kajal liner at your disposal, use it to highlight the eyelash line and blend the pigment with a brush so that there are no clear lines left.
  • Are you planning to use eye shadow in your makeup? The main color should be white. Distribute it over the entire surface of the moving eyelids, and blend the black in a very small amount along the eyelash edge and at the outer corners. The main thing is not to darken the makeup too much.

Make-up for brunettes

Dark-haired girls are allowed to put a clearer emphasis on their eyes. The white color here is only needed to highlight the area under the eyebrows to get a more open look. And by playing with the saturation of charcoal-dark shadows, you can get a light or dark shade.

Let's do our own everyday makeup black with a white tip for a girl with dark hair - from chestnut to resinous.

  1. The beginning is standard: we highlight the sub-brow area with the lightest color. It is not necessary to apply shadow to the moving eyelid;
  2. We emphasize the lower eyelid with charcoal shadows. On the top one we draw beautiful semi-ovals (as in the photo) so that there is a light strip between them and the eyebrows. The color of the shadows should weaken as it approaches the eyebrows;
  3. Using a soft white pencil, draw an arrow going up. To make it more noticeable against the background of light skin, you can slightly highlight it with a charcoal-dark pencil from below;
  4. Using eyeliner, draw an arrow on the upper lash line. On the lower eyelid, you can not use eyeliner, but emphasize it with shadows;
  5. We paint eyelashes with charcoal mascara.

This black makeup with a white tip is quite extravagant and would be more suitable for a special occasion. During the daytime, dark-haired girls can do the make-up for blondes described above.

As an experiment, you can try doing the opposite: white and black makeup. That is, the upper eyelid will be light, and the arrow will be very dark. In this case, you can leave the dark eyeliner and apply it also to the lower eyelid to highlight the eyes. With make-up in which white color predominates, it is not recommended to highlight the eyebrows brightly. And the lighter the shade of hair (red, copper), the less dark should prevail in the make-up.

Makeup with black and white eye shadow for green eyes

There are no restrictions here. You can safely do smoky eyes makeup with black and white shadows, and draw arrows, both soft, with a slight hazy effect, and graphic, and in addition outline the inner contour of the eyes with white kajal. This technique, by the way, will enhance the brightness of green eyes.

Brows

Essential, as with any makeup (although still often underestimated by most women), for a black and white photo shoot is eyebrow styling.

  • Use a dark pencil or shadow and touch only the hairs, not the skin. This way you will model the shape and emphasize the eyes and, therefore, the expressiveness of the look.
  • Just below the brow line, you can apply a little matte nude eyeshadow or a shade lighter - this will make a good accent on the shape.

Makeup in black and white colors step by step: photo instructions

1

Start by applying the base - this is a must, since without preparing the skin, the makeup will not be long-lasting, and the shadows will be difficult to shade (the primer evens out the skin texture).

Next, using a small brush, draw a soft line of black shadow, emphasizing the lower eyelid and outer corners of the eyes.

3

Repeat the same on the upper eyelid and connect the lines with a “corner”, creating a cat eye effect.

4

Blend the black shadows. A natural beige shade will help you with this, which will soften the boundaries so that the black will dissipate, gradually merging with the skin color.

5

Dab in either silver white or pearl white eyeshadow to highlight the inner corners of your eyes. Apply them so that the color “stretches” until it becomes a black haze. Don't forget to blur the lines between shades.

6

Using kajal or a felt-tip liner, outline the inner contour of the eyelids to make the emphasis on the eyes even more impressive.

7

Complete the makeup by applying mascara (if necessary, in two layers, this will create the effect of an “open” look).

Step-by-step video lessons

When talking about black and white eye makeup, many people immediately think of “smoky eyes.” In fact, this makeup technique has become so popular because of its ease of execution and spectacular appearance.

This scheme suits any eye shape and looks great even with drooping eyelids.

  • You need to start your makeup with a light shade. Apply it to the moving eyelid.
  • After that, darken the outer corner and start blending the shadow into the crease. To do this, it is better to use a fluffy brush - this will make the lines smoother.
  • Then use a flat synthetic brush to create a black haze around the lashes.
  • If you want to reduce the distance between the eyes, then darken the inner corner and bring the shading into the crease.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Makeup with arrows: how to make even arrows yourself?

  • Add a small highlight under the eyebrow with white shadows.
  • To make the image look complete, carefully paint over the mucous membranes and eyelashes.

The simplest makeup that is perfect for both day and evening is a black and white arrow.

Differences between daytime makeup in black and white and evening makeup

Cosmetics in black and white colors are universal. This allows you to use it to create both daytime and evening looks.

  • In everyday makeup, it is better not to get carried away with darkening the contour of the eyes and eyelids. Makeup for every day requires lightness, so use white to a greater extent. It is desirable that these be shadows with a radiant texture, which, when applied correctly (for example, in the inner corners of the eyes), provide a cheerful look, “erasing” signs of fatigue. Complement them with neat thin arrows.

  • In evening looks, you can afford more: wide graphic arrows in black, black and gray smoky eyes, and highlighting the contour with black kajal, followed by shading from the lash line. On a special occasion, it won’t be too much if you add all this to the application of mascara in two layers.
